PROPOSALS
Submission Deadline: November 21, 2006, by 5:00 p.m. Notification of Award(s): December 22, 2006 Synopsis of Program: The NSF Water Quality Center (WQC) at The Internal proposals will be peer-reviewed to determine
whether they fit within the Center’s mission and program focus described
above. Finalists will be selected to give a short presentation of their
proposed work at the Application Requirements and Instructions: Applications will consist of the following: 1) Project proposal form, which can be downloaded at http://wqc.asu.edu / go to “Funding”. 2) Proposal must include: Project Description, Statement of Need, Project Approach, Research Team and Qualifications, References, Budget and Schedule, Budget Justification. Proposals are limited to maximum of 4 pages. 3) A short Curriculum Vitae for each investigator. Allowable costs under this program are salaries (1 week maximum faculty summer salary) and wages, graduate student support, general operating expenses (e.g. materials, supplies, services), publication costs, travel costs, and miscellaneous costs that are essential to the conduct of the research. Industry partnership and co-funding are highly recommended. There are no indirect costs required under this program. Applicants are required to submit an ORSPA Proposal Routing and Approval Form (blue sheet) through their department.
Applications should be submitted by e-mail to Award Terms: Duration – Grants will be offered for expenditure during the life of the project. Requests for no-cost extensions will require a progress report justifying the extension and a revised budget including justification. Eligibility – ASU faculty members are eligible to receive funding under this program. Any grant recipient who fails to remain eligible will forfeit unexpended funds. Forfeited funds will revert to the source account. Progress Reports – Grant recipients will be required to submit biannual progress reports and to present their work at the biannual WQC meetings at ASU and the U of A. A final progress report will be required 30 days after completion of the project and should include information on publication(s) and, if applicable, grant proposals generated as a result of this grant. Compliance – All research carried out under the sponsorship of ASU is subject to all of the University’s research policies and procedures. In particular, investigators conducting projects that involve human subjects, laboratory animals, biohazards, recombinant DNA, etc., must obtain the necessary approvals before commencing work. |
